Certain factors increase your risk of developing breast cancer, including:
-Being a woman, especially as you age•
-A family history of breast cancer or previous personal history
-Inherited genetic mutations like BRCA1 and BRCA2
-Exposure to radiation, smoking, alcohol, and obesity
-Early menstruation, late menopause, and having your first child later in life
-Postmenopausal hormone therapy
-Early menstruation (before age 12), late menopause (after age 55), having no children, or having the first child after age 30 can increase risk
